Needlebook Swap

Standard

The partner assignments came through for the RATZ Needlebook Swap on Saturday. I was so excited to finally get started! I planned out a couple of designs before creating this one….

and the back…

Needle and Thread Embroidery

I love how it turned out! I still need to make the felt pages for the inside. I have to decide if I want to embellish them or not. I wish I had a pair of pinking shears. I’d like to pink the edges of the pages. Oh, well. I’m off to ponder my pages.

 Happy Sewing!

P.S. My giveaway is ending tomorrow night! Enter here.

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

Happy Independence Day!!!

Well, I didn’t get much sewing done this past week because I have been planning the fall curriculum for Lil Penguin. I also spent a lot of time in the kitchen! Mr. Penguin volunteered me to bake 6 dozen cookies for the Ronald McDonald house! I wound up baking 8 dozen so we had some and so did his co-workers.  I was happy to help and hope that my cookies brought a smile.

I have also been busy working on my embroidery patterns for the fall. I have several that I love and I ‘m hoping  some of you will test out the patterns for me. If you want to be a tester or know someone who would, please email me.

Completed Projects: None

But I did set up a fabulous give away here!

New Projects:

Dove Needlebook ~ I thought I would do a practice run for the RATZ Swap.  I used a tutorial that was posted on the RATZ Swap page, but I can’t remember which one. The dove is my own design.

Scarf for Lil Penguin~ It’s my first knitting project in years! I am planning on teaching Lil Penguin to knit in the fall and I needed to practice. He just starting learning how to finger knit this week.

In progress:

Cup o’ Joe mug rug

Exciting News!

Standard

First, I want to show you what I received in the mail…

My buttons from the RATZ swap! Aren’t they adorable? I think they are super cute and I love them. Lil Penguin likes them as well. He’s been trying to steal them, especially the scissor one.

Now to the exciting news. I am planning on launching an embroidery collection this fall. It’s my first one and I have been busy sketching away. I’d like to get these up for sale in August. So I was hoping for some volunteers to test out several of my patterns. I need the testers to complete the embroidery pattern, make note of any confusion or difficulties and  take/post a photo.  If you are interested, please e-mail me by July 9th.
